Starr’s Certified Trauma and Resilience Trainer in Clinical (CTRT-C) Training and, ultimately, Certification is for professionals invested in promoting Starr’s resilience-focused approach to healing trauma in clinical environments. As a CTRT-C, trainers can train Starr’s foundational Clinical course within or outside of their facility, certify individuals as CTRS-Cs, and share the same powerful tools and mindset they have mastered with new clinical professionals and the children, families, and communities they collectively serve.
To purchase and complete this live training, individuals must have achieved CTRS-C certification.

The CTRT-C Training is a live (via Zoom), 1-day training – with mandatory pre-work and a 30-minute consulting session with the CTRT-C Instructor required (conducted 1 week prior to the training date).

Professionals across healthcare, social services, education, and community organizations are seeing the effects of trauma every day—but many have not had access to research-based, trauma-informed training. This initiative is designed to change that.

Through this partnership, we are working to expand trauma-informed practices across organizations throughout Southwest Michigan, helping professionals respond more effectively and improving outcomes for the individuals and families they serve.

This virtual training will be held via Zoom and attendees must attend all three sessions to receive certification:

Participants will examine why traditional discipline strategies can unintentionally escalate behaviors and damage relationships—and how a needs-based approach leads to more effective, lasting change.

Through guided reflection and hands-on application, this consultation focuses on how to put these concepts into practice in real-world settings. Attendees will learn how to identify the root causes of behavior and apply practical strategies in their own classrooms and programs. The result is a more connected environment where students feel understood, supported, and better equipped to succeed.

This workshop provides participants with a comprehensive introduction to the Transition to Success (TTS) model—a framework that treats poverty as a condition, not a character flaw. Grounded in the Diagnosis Poverty methodology, the session helps attendees understand how TTS integrates social determinants of health, goal‑setting tools, and coaching practices to drive sustainable personal and organizational change.

Throughout the workshop, participants explore TTS’s core components, including foundational tools such as the Life Area Survey, Map of My Dreams, Coach Curriculum, and Fidelity Checklist. They learn how certification pathways support high‑quality implementation and how organizations can embed TTS into workflows, treatment planning, and evaluation processes.

The session is highly interactive, inviting participants to design a mock implementation plan, practice using TTS tools, and develop evaluation and data‑collection approaches. By the end, attendees leave with concrete next steps—such as identifying actions to advance TTS within their own agencies—and a clearer understanding of how TTS can foster empowerment, improve outcomes, and strengthen organizational alignment.
