Erin comes to Starr with a background in education, and healing arts. Before Erin came to Starr, she spent 7 years working as an academic and behavioral interventionist in elementary and middle schools. She is passionate about creating experiences, and nurturing practices that best serve children, families, and communities. Erin lives by the deep belief that all people are inherently whole and sacred, and she is honored to hold space for people to experience truth and compassion. Erin is trained in school based mindfulness practice, and has developed curriculum for mindfulness practices in the classroom and leads workshops in mindfulness for adults and children. Erin began her journey with yoga and mindfulness 22 years ago. In 2018, Erin earned her 300 hour trauma sensitive yoga teacher certification, and in 2020 she earned an additional 300 hours of training in yoga\/somatic therapy from the Body Mind Being Institute. Erin has guided trauma sensitive yoga practices for trauma survivors in both group and individual sessions. She is a graduate of The Evergreen State College where she studied mind\/body practices, and multi-cultural counseling. Erin has dedicated herself to developing and facilitating experiences that support whole well-being and provide experiences of resilience for helping professionals, educators, children, and communities. Erin is passionate about supporting Starr Commonwealth\u2019s work in equity, diversity, and inclusion through Glasswing: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion experiences, workshops, and trainings. Erin was certified as a Glasswing Facilitator in 2019, and continues to develop content, coordinate programming, and lean into Starr\u2019s unique approach of trauma-informed diversity, equity, and inclusion. Erin is honored to hold space for individuals and organizations on their transformational journey to realize equity, and foster cultures of accountability, belonging, and compassion.
